Physician (Primary Care)

The Primary Care Staff Physician has responsibility for providing primary care to a defined panel of primary care patients. The physician will provide direct patient care full time and work as a member of a patient aligned care team (PACT) comprised of a nurse care manager (RN), a clinical associate (Licensed Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant), and an administrative assistant to provide care for a population of veterans. The expanded healthcare team includes a social worker, dietician, clinical pharmacist, and behavioral health clinician. Working with the PACT, the Physician is responsible to contribute to the achievement of quality of care standards, efficiency, process improvement and patient satisfaction within the Primary Care Division, in particular to the incumbent's assigned panel of Primary Care patients. The incumbent is expected to practice in accordance with professional standards, core values, and with a commitment to service excellence. The Primary Care Staff Physician will be supervised by the Clinic Practice Manager (CPM) at their primary clinic site and will also have accountability to the Clinical Director of Primary Care. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program. To participate in the program in the program, you must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with the VHA Policy and submit your application within four months of appointment. The final award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) is determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Experience:
At least one (1) year of Internal or Family medicine in a Primary Care setting. Reference:
VA Regulations, specifically VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G-2 Physician Qualification Standard. This can be found in the local Human Resources Office. Physical Requirements:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
