Position Overview
Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon seeks energetic and teaching-focused candidates for a full-time, 180-day Nursing faculty position. Terms of Employment
This is a 100%, 180-day academic position. Recently hired faculty are expected to participate in a new faculty orientation program.
This assignment is subject to budget approval
Requires the provision of official transcripts upon hire
Requires flexible work schedule to meet the program needs which may include evenings and weekends
Salary Placement
Salary placement is subject to current contract depending on education and experience.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Embraces diversity and actively collaborates effectively with a variety of students, staff and the public from diverse cultural, social, economic and educational backgrounds
Actively participates in the retention and recruitment of students
Embraces appropriate technology tools to accomplish job functions; understands and utilizes available technology as communication and data gathering tools
Meets all scheduled and special classes-day, evening, nights, week-ends, and 12 hour shifts
Teaches classes as assigned, following approved course outlines
Prepares and develops materials for assigned classes
Posts and maintains office hours
Provides students with course syllabi
Maintains records of grades and attendance; reports individual academic grades when required
Maintains college facilities and equipment
Participates in curriculum development; recommends course outline revisions
Recommends textbooks and other instructional materials and equipment; recommends library and reference materials
Contributes suggestions for annual department budget
Keeps up to date on technological changes and developments in subject area
Attends staff meetings and participates in designated committee work; represents the department at pertinent meetings as required
Works in a cooperative manner with other people in the department and college
Communicates in a timely manner with students and department personnel
Promotes positive image of college and college programs
Develops and maintains contacts with community and professional organizations
Assists Advisory Committee as needed
Functions as a life-long learner
Applies the College's values for teaching and learning:

Qualifications:
Minimum
Qualifications:
Successful applicants must have all of the following qualifications for consideration: 1. Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution
2. Nursing experience in medical/surgical or equivalent within the past five years.
3. Current unencumbered Oregon RN license (or eligible for Oregon License)
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience in a nursing education program within the past five years
Demonstrated ability or desire to work with culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse students and communities.
Demonstrated ability or desire to work with a variety of technological media

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
