Johnny Matthew's Hairdressing Training School (JM) is committed to high quality education by equipping our students with the tools needed to become successful in their careers.
We are student-focused and dedicated in providing each student the knowledge, training, and confidence needed to meet the present and future demands of the industry.
The schools proven instruction techniques and curriculum, plus the expertise of the schools highly qualified and dedicated instructors, help students reach their highest abilities as Hair Designers or Barbers.
Our ideal candidate has:
2 years experience in a salon or barbershop (required) 1 year experience as an instructor (preferred) Must have a current and valid license in Barbering and Hair Design (will be verified before scheduling interviews) Excellent skills in communication, business management, and team building.
Consistent and regular attendance, as well as maintain a professional appearance Ability to attend continuing education classes (per state and federal regulations) Bi-lingual in English and Spanish a major plus! Day-to-day
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement salon floor instruction, practical and hands-on instruction.
Ensure that students learn the essential skills necessary to be successful in the industry.
Coach, train and mentor students who have difficulty in a learning environment and on the clinic floor.
Supervise the front desk- answering phones, scheduling appointments, closing/balancing the till, returning voicemail messages.
Set goals for students to reach as a team and individually to maintain retail and revenue.
Complete consultations on the clinic floor, and ensure client satisfaction Weekly
Responsibilities:
Assess the progress of each student (attendance, academics, skill competencies) Encourage students to build their social media platforms and enhance their marketing skills.
Boost retail experience for students and the clients on the clinic floor.
