Ophthalmic Technician Aides work closely with Ophthalmic Techs and physicians as part of a patient-oriented team to provide quality patient care.
Tech aides complete the initial patient evaluation, including but not limited to, updating medications and allergies, obtaining a general, ocular and family history, obtaining an HPI, checking visual acuity with and without correction, reading/documenting patient glasses prescriptions and other miscellaneous tech aide duties.
Qualifications:
No experience required, experience in a medical or ophthalmic setting preferred.
If employee shows the skills and knowledge needed during training and working as a tech aide there is potential to become an Opthalmic Tech in the future.
EPM/EHR skills with general ocular anatomy and physiology helpful.
Critical listening and communication skills required.
