This recruitment has been reopened for additional applicants and will remain open until filledIf you have already applied for recruitment #529-2024-2, you do not need to reapplyNew applicants are encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible as this recruitment may close at any time without further noticeMarion County Health and Human Services is currently seeking in person, part-time counselors to join our Addiction Treatment Services (ATS) teamAs a part-time counselor you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of treatment settingsWe take pride in offering a comprehensive range of individualized substance use disorder treatments, including ASAM assessments, individual and group therapy, and recovery peer supportOur dedicated team members are deeply committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment where all individuals can access high-quality health and human services and are supported in achieving their highest level of healthIf you are looking for a fulfilling career where you can make a difference, we encourage you to applyJoin us at Marion County Health and Human Services and be part of a team that is transforming lives and promoting wellness in our communityGENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES Perform counseling and case management functions for persons served and their familiesPrepare and maintain service recordsPrimary responsibility of this class is addiction counseling and case managementSUPERVISION RECEIVED Work under supervision of a Clinical Supervisor, or designee, who assigns work, establishes goals and reviews results obtained for overall effectivenessWorks within a team and collaborates with other team membersSUPERVISION EXERCISED Supervision of others in not a responsibility of positions in this classificationTypical Duties - Duties include, but are not limited to the following Develop and maintain skills to provide direct addiction treatment services and program area support for adults, adolescents and families for all ATS service areas where neededFacilitate and/or co-facilitate individual and group services while creating and maintaining a caring and supportive environmentPerform substance testing through the use of breathalyzers, urine and/or oral testsConduct assessments and determine the level of care and placement most appropriate for the clientsWork collaboratively with clients to develop service plans.Maintain accurate and timely documentation of clinical records in accordance with federal, state, county, and treatment program expectationsCoordinate services with community partners to provide holistic care.Participate fully as a member of the Addiction Treatment teamStrive to be a supportive, reliable, positive, and professional team member during the development of client treatment planning, clinical team meetings, client crisis interventions, and in other staff meetings.Collaborate with team members in the development, coordination, and presentations of community educational programs, outreach, and recovery activitiesOccasionally support individuals by accompanying and transporting them to appointments (i.e., court, DHS meetings, etc.).Perform other job duties as assigned by your supervisor.Response Level 2:
In the event of an emergency, employee makes a reasonable effort to report to workEmployee may be required to perform duties outside of their regularly assigned dutiesEmployee may be requested to work an extended or flexible scheduleStaff at this response level must complete Incident Command System 100 and 700 on-line or in-person trainingRequirements for the Position EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING Must possess or obtain within six (6) months of hire, a current MHACBO (Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon) CADC I (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) or higherThe CADC I certification requires education, supervised experience hours and successful completion of a written examinationSee MHACBO website for requirementsSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must possess a current driver's license in the applicant's state of residence and an acceptable driving historyMarion County will obtain a copy of the driving record for all qualified applicants from Driver and Motor Vehicle Services and review the driving record according to the Marion County policy and procedure for Driving on County BusinessThe policy can be found at:
