What you will do:
Analyze customer account information and provide guidance and solutions.
Provide customer care and support for over 57,000 community-wide customer accounts on the phone (in a call-center environment), in person, and in writing.
Lead your team by assigning and reviewing work, handling escalated customer calls, managing the billing and collection processes, performing simple to complex financial adjustments, maintaining the integrity of customer-related information, generating utility bills and notices, processing financial transactions, maintaining City assets by requesting inspections and investigations, and resolving customer utility-related issues.

What are the minimum qualifications? Must pass the pre-employment background check.
Must have an Oregon Driver license and have a driving record that meets the City of Salem's driving standards.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration or a related field; and one year of professional administrative level experience involving review, analysis, and preparation of recommendations, development of administrative policies, procedures and systems; or any combination of experience and training that demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities as listed, and ability to perform the essential job functions.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
